Vines, meet sky—high above the Silverado Trail.

At 4 Winds in the Stags Leap District of Napa Valley, we’d be crazy to plant anything but Cabernet Sauvignon.

Thomas Rivers Brown, our winemaker, advised that from the start for our family’s hilltop vineyard nestled in the volcanic cliffs of the Palisades.

It’s a windswept life, and we’re going Cabernet Sauvignon all the way.

Hello to new friends, and to 4 Winds’ loyalists—in Napa and along the West coast, in New York and New Orleans, Naples and Nashville, and the many other locales, wine rooms and restaurant tables where we’ve had the chance to share glasses since our first vintage in 2012.

Our cuvée wines crafted by Thomas Rivers Brown are 100% Cabernet Sauvignon blends sourced from the same, select small lots of neighboring Steltzner Vineyards and Regusci Winery, each family-run for generations and legendary to the Napa Valley wine legacy.

Selections from the 4 Winds’ library are now available for purchase here.

To add to our winemaking, the vineyard at 4 Winds itself is maturing. Our first estate-grown block of mountain fruit grew tight, compact and fantastic—but with farming, there’s often heartbreak. When the 2020 fires struck in the valley below, we had to drop all of the fruit of our debut harvest.

We dig in. We’re up early to walk the estate and check the vines, pastures and gardens. And we look forward to sharing updates from 4 Winds of new vines and blocks of Cabernet Sauvignon, wildlife sightings and the antics of goats and hens, garden harvests and special dishes from our chef—and, of course, our wine.
